Lord Biswakarma the designer of Lord Jagannath : Great lord Biswakarma is the one who came in disguise as a old carpenter and persuaded king Indradyumna to allow him carve the idol of Jagannath out of the "Daru" or sandalwood log. On tenth day of complete isolation however at the behest of queen the doors are opened and the half-made idols were found in the sanctorium. Thus lord Jagannath got his present shape.
