At last the dream came true. Our mother land Orissa is being decorated with a precious diamond locket in it’s necklace of development cluster, an IIT on a 900 acres ( almost double the size of other new IITs ) is finally being established at Bhubaneswar. Efforts of all intellectuals, bureaucrats, well wishers and even of our respected honorable chief minister have resulted worth. Hats off to all the sons of the soil who made this dream come true. Thus Orissa crossed over another land mark of world focus with this evolutionary revolution in Education.

Among India’s six new upper echelon IITs that started classes in 2008. (The others are IIT Hyderabad, IIT Patna, IIT Rajasthan, IIT Punjab and IIT Gandhinagar. Two other new IITs are being established in Indore and Himachal Pradesh. But classes will start there in 2009.) Bhubaneswar IIT is uniquely placed to become the top IIT within a decade. Having the science institute NISER (that aims to become an IISc) just adjacent to IIT Bhubaneswar would bring in a unique synergy in this planet Talent. Last year under supervision of Prof. Damodar Acharya, Director, IIT Bhubaneswar, 120 students enrolled into Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
