Modernization is the only
way our motherland Orissa can preserve her Novelty. Today all of us
need to understand this else later all we can do is just repent.
With remarkable efforts of current government global key players
like POSCO, Tata, Mittal, Vedant group and many such International
bodies have come forward to establish in Orissa. Amazingly everyone
welcomes them and supports their projects except few politically
biased opposition groups. Locals support the movement and say
whether they sell their land for such project or not is their
decision, but political parties from neighboring states come and use
refugees as their instrument to oppose any modernization in Orissa.
Ridiculous but true. These same political groups support similar
modernization projects in their states and they welcome these
companies, but oppose in Orissa just to ensure that these companies
leave Orissa and go to their state.
Any new project planned on our motherland is being opposed saying
some or the other reason with stiff opposition, even armed riot in
few cases. There is nothing more shameful than this. Think of any
steel township on earth. A mere jungle a day once converted into a
steel city, not only provides enormous job opportunities to lakhs of
people instantly, but also gifts a well planned, sophisticated,
multi billion state of the art township with all facilities intact
in the neighborhood due to ancillary and peripheral influence, a
promised future for generations to come.
Just imagine wonderful projects like POSCO complex investing 52000
crores with capacity of 12 million tones of finished steel shall
eventually gift Orissa a modern township ten times larger, smarter
and efficient than our today’s Rourkela, Tata Iron & Steel Co. Ltd
at Jajpur with 15,000 Crores, Sterlite Iron & Steel Co. Ltd at
Keonjhar with 12,500 Crores, Jindal at Keonjhar with 4,000 Crores,
Tube at Kalinga Nagar with 3,480 Crores will shape our state on the
formats of Germany and Japan. Along with this in addition we will
get seven world class seaports, International Airports, World class
educational institutions, Mega power plants, World class railway
stations.
To make this true is not only the responsibility of Government,
rather it's the responsibility of each and every Odia around the
world to think, act to ensure smooth investments in Orissa in terms
of industrialization, modernization, educational and financial
development. We must do something today to stay alive in the rapid
growing world tomorrow. We ignore today and tomorrow the rest of the
world will cruise far ahead crushing us behind.
Let us all join hands and push the modernization forward. If not now
then never ever we get this opportunity. Jaya Jagannath.
