motherland, the aroma of our glorious culture, the cologne of
universal brotherhood and everything just with a drop of essence
from Lord Jagannath culture.
Our Identity and coexistence:
Bangalore, the green house of South India that platforms to more
than a thousand corporate bodies and a head count of up to 1.5
crores from all religions, races, casts and communities. We Odias
autograph to this statistics with a mere count of 5 lakhs plus
comprising of around 70 thousand corporate professionals, rest being
a mix of plumbers, construction workers, chunks of students,
housewives, cooks, security guards and other day labors. Our
community also possesses few trusts and Associations all aimed at
binding the hearts and souls together under a common umbrella and
promote the richy rich cultural heritage of Orissa. We Odias have
excelled in many fields on the lands of Karnataka and thus have
cultivated a bilateral covalence bonding and brotherhood with our
Kannadiga brothers and sisters. Among us are couple of renowned and
eminent personalities like Sri Sandeep Dash ( Commissioner, BBMP ),
Extraordinaire Citizen Award winner Sri. Upendra Tripathy ( Ex.
Chairman, BMTC ), Sri. Sushant Mohapatra ( IPS, Add DG, Karnataka
Police ), Sri. N R Mohanty ( Ex, Chairman, HAL ), Income Tax
Commissioners, MDs, CEOs, Chairmen, Medical Specialists and
practitioners, Surgeons, and many other top brasses from public and
private sectors.
On this small Ireland of Odias, there comes up a sky scrapping state
of the art sand stone crafted hundred plus feet tall Sri Jagannath
temple. The Temple is architected by Padma bibhusana Sri. Raghunath
Mohapatra, who is designing the temple aiming to make it as an exact
replica of World tourism heritage hub Sri Jagannath dham, Puri. Sri
Jagannath Temple justifies to another unique dimension to the
identity of our Odia community at Bangalore, A prestigious
definition of respect to our co existence on the soils of Karnataka.
Since last year we have started conducting Rath Yatra every year,
the festival that binds together hearts and souls of all devotees
across the world with the threads of love and universal brotherhood.
On this date our ever beloved lord Jagannatha came out of the Temple
and ride thru a spectacular procession on a state of the art
traditional wooden Chariot. We had the most spectacular event of the
year, the brightest shining day of our calendar, the day that
counted to the largest synchronous gathering of devotees of lord Sri
Jagannath at Bangalore for a common divine and spiritual reason
Last Year with contributions from all corners of society and lots of
good wishes, Lord Jagannath could be gifted with a marvelous chariot
for Rath Yatra by all his ever beloved devotees and thus a long
standing dream came true for crores of devotees of the supreme lord
Sri Jagannath swami across the world who wished to have Rath Yatra
celebrated in full scale at Bangalore. With breathless efforts of
the temple trustees, Office bearers and Sevayats, Rath Yatra could
be celebrated at Sri Jagannath Temple at a mega grand scale that
witnessed presence of more than 20 thousand devotees from all the
nukes and corners of the society adding a new dimension to the
identity of Odia hemisphere at Bangalore, A prestigious definition
of respect to our co existence on the soils of holy Karnataka, a
memory for life time for Hindu civilization here and thus a new wing
of richness to our culture and most importantly a cute smile to the
faces of our ever beloved deities.
Mission next :
With Lord Jagannath temple still incomplete it becomes a basic
responsibility of all of us to work out a plan for getting the
temple completed. Imagine if someone among our ancestors would have
contributed or had put effort to Puri Jagannath Temple Construction, and his name
would be found carved on the wall of Puri Jagannath Temple, how
prideful it would be for us to find our ancestor’s name on Puri
Temple wall. Here is just another similar opportunity. Let’s avail
