Sri Krushna Janmastami:
Sri Jagannath Temple Bangalore welcomes you on the auspicious occasion
of Sri Krushna Janmastami this saturday. Tomorrow the eighth day of
Bhadraba as per odia panji or 23rd day of August as per English
calendar is celebrated world over as the advent of Lord Sri Krushna,
the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu and a Supreme Personality among
Godheads. Let’s congregate and observe the special darshan of Lord
Jagannath in the attires of Sri Krushna to plunge deep in the essence
of religious atmosphere. Let’s enjoy the fragrance of Mathura and
Brundavan at Sri Jagannath Temple compound by chanting hymns and
mantra, singing bhajans and by performing special prayers to seek
divine blessings of the Lord Sri Krushna.
Janmashtami will be celebrated for two days ( tomorrow and the day
after ), the first day being Krushnashtami or Gokulashtami and the
second day following as Kalastami or Janmashtami. Let’s feel the

Significance of Janmashtami : This festival commemorates the birth of
a super power to destroy Kansa, the evil king, thus teaching us a
lesson to control our senses and indulge them in activities that takes
them to the divine enlightenment in destroying the ego within.
Inaugural edition of
Quarterly Magazine

We are planning to commence release of a quarterly magazine that will
justify our face value. We appreciate all of you to please get
involved in this drive. Let’s think of a name for this magazine that
will best suit to Lord Jagannath’s social life style and cultural
richness. We request everyone to please come up with unique ideas to
make this first edition a memory for ever. The first edition copy
should be worth of being appreciated world over. Let’s do it.
Let’s make the first edition of this magazine an outstanding one. I
suggest, let it not be more than 30 pages with

Articles can be from areas of Sri Jagannath Culture, Importance of
Lord Jagannath in modern society, Cultural heritage of orissa, some
thing that can attract young generation towards Sri Jagannath culture,
Some unique experience with Lord Jagannath. I my self have planned to
contribute one article on "Experience of Lord Jagannath in the current
society"

rare snaps of Lord Sri Jagannath Temple chronologically
from the time of Bhoomi puja, completion of ground floor , first
roofing, second roofing, Stone carving stc.

group snaps ( one snap will be of the people who are
involved in making the temple since years, another wide screen group
snap of our pioneer life members ). These snap will be our priceless
memories for ever. We will also put a framed, laminated life size of
life member’s snaps in either sides of the temple after it’s
completion.
We also request here by to people from different wings and span of
society to contribute articles, or self written poems, songs or
bhajans. These artifacts will be scrutinized by all the authors and
the best of the ones will be placed in the first edition. To
