With Rath Yatra nearing and a brand new Chariot at it's final touch
stage at Bangalore, there is a clear indication of curiosity,
impatience and restiveness on faces of Lord Jagannath, Devi Subhadra
and Lord Balabhadra.
So here comes the most colorful events of Pre Rath Yatra set up. As we
know during Rath Yatra celebrations Lord Jagannath wears no precious
jewellery, except Tahia ( A decorative piece of turban that is made
out of thermo coil, cane, bamboo sticks, sola pith, flowers and colors
( minimal, red and zinc, are used ), is placed on the Lord's head
while he is being taken from the temple to the chariot and vice-versa.
A lot of raw bamboo sticks (altogether 37 sticks) are held together
with cotton strings to give the tahia its shape. Cane is also used at
specific places. Flowers, made of sola pith, are also used, apart from
jasmine. But the row of kadamba flowers at the top of tahia, made of
sola pith, enhance the beauty of the tahia.
We on behalf of Sri Jagannath Temple Trust, Bangalore requests all of
you to please come up with artisans skills who are interested to
prepare the tahia to please contact Siba Ram Baral about this. This is
the first time we are going to prepare a Tahia for our beloved lord.
Let's make it the most spectacular in the world. An eye catching,
charming, gorgeous tahia that the lord will get stunned at.
Technical assistance for preparing the tahia will be provided by our
priests and even by traditional carpenters from puri who are here at
Bangalore for the chariot preparation.
Don't miss this opportunity. It's a never before never again once in
life time opportunity to prepare the first Tahia of Lord Sri Jagannath
at Bangalore.
Next step : Once Tahia is prepared for the three deities we will start
decorating the Chariot with cloth designing like Pipili Chandua,
thermo coil designing, Thread worska and embroidery.
So let's spend just an hour at the temple gallery and prepare a
marvelous Tahia. For joining the team please contact Siba Ram Baral at
Siba.Ram.Baral@Sap.com or 9845760848.
