From a fatal hole in the heart just a decade back, The economy of Orissa have now recovered to a shinning high position that attracts global corporal attention. In a journey from logic to magic, impossibility have shaped into the most lucrative shape of possibility within. With year 2009 receding back spacing the new year to wave in through, Orissa witnessed an all time highest rise in GDP bubbling itself up to the cream layer among the most favorable destination heavens of investment in the business world. So here goes the final progress report of Orissa for the year 2009 with many eye raising distinctive achievements and milestones. Ok. here comes the magic number. A total of 142 projects cleared by Single Window Clearance Committee of Orissa Govt. worth Investments of 6,00,000 plus crores and 89 MoUs signed worth investment of 4,00,000 plus crores.

• Rs. 42,023 crores worth 8 power projects yeilding 9780 Megawatt.
• Rs. 30,000 crores worth Oil Refinary at Paradip
• Rs. 15,820 crores worth Auto complex employing 47,000 direct and 1.5 lakh people indirectly.
• Rs. 8,000 crore worth 2000 MW thermal power project at Rengali Dam
• Rs. 6,000 crores worth 1600 KM natural gas pipelinefrom Gujarat to Orissa.
