Bahuda Yatra and Suna Vesa of Lord Jagannath

On the auspicious occasion of Bahuda Yatra Sri Jagannath Temple trust welcomes all devotees to participate in this divine procession. On Friday the deities are going to be attired in new glittering golden costumes. This form of the deities is known as the famous Suna Vesa, the golden attire.

Date : 2nd July Thursday
Puja rituals : 11:30 AM
Pahandi Bije : 12:00 AM
Chera Panhara : 12:15 AM
Bahuda Yatra Starts : 12:30 PM
Bahuda Yatra ends : 2:30 PM
Prasad Sevan : 3:30 PM till 9:30 PM

The very next day of Suna Vesa, the deities move into the sanctum sanctorum of the temple and this marks the end of the RathaYatra the grand festival of chariots. Jaya Jagannath.

• It is quite auspicious and good fortune to donate even a small piece of golden ornament to Lord Jagannath, Devi Subhadra and Lord Balabhadra for Suna Vesa rituals. Devotees who gifts even a tiny ornament to the Lord on this divine day, becomes the dearest of all devotees to Lord Jagannath and thus thru out life receives unique blessings.

• This grand event being upfront, Sri Jagannath Temple requires few volunteers who can manage and maintain the events and happenings. Please come and join us as a volunteer.
