With a massive chariot complete structured and now witnessing final touches of color shading, miscellaneous wood work and clothing trials, we heartily express gratitude to all the devotees of Lord Jagannath who voluntarily came forward to contribute and sponsor this project.

Responsibilities of each and every brothers and Sisters :

1. Apply for leave for 4th July Friday : As this year, Sri Gundicha Rath Yatra falls on 4th of July, It’s our honest request hereby to please apply for leave on 4th July 2008. The function is followed by a huge traditional Oriya style Anna Dalma Prasad sevan facility for all devotees. Apart from this Snana Purnima, the most spectacular bathing ceremony of Lord Jagannath will be held on 18th of June 2008. After that as per tradition, Lord Jagannath Will fall sick and will be inside closed room ( Anasara Ghara ) till Rath Yatra. Hence I would also appreciate people to take half day off during the morning hour only on 18th Jnne and come and enjoy participating Snana Purnima at Sri Jagannath Temple.

This year 4th of July the world famous Rath Yatra ( Car Festival ) of Lord Sri Jagannath Swami is going to be celebrated across the world. Here in Bangalore there is a Sri. Jagannath Temple situated at HSR Lay out near Koramangala, where a similar massive arrangement has been done to celebrate Rath Yatra. The celebration will be through out the day marked by a huge wooden chariot with Lord Jagannath, Devi Subhadra and Lord Balabhadra aboard being hand pulled in a procession by Lakhs of devotees. Me basically belonging to Orissa and a proud devotee of Lord Sri Jagannath of Puri, wish to be a part of this majestic festival.

Wish you to please let me be on leave that day. I will ensure to communicate work related urgencies if any to my colleagues well in advance.

2. Email spreads : Friends we personally request on behalf of Sri Jagannath Temple Trust, to please spread the news of Rath Yatra Celebrations to every one in your friend circle, interested colleagues and relatives. Let’s trigger those chain of mails to all in our senders list and do the same frequently so as to ensure no one misses this world famous celebration at Bangalore.

3. Word of mouth : Apart from emails let’s also spread the news of Rath Yatra thru word of mouth to each and every friend that we meet on road, shopping malls, restaurant, play ground and cinema halls. Let’s invite relatives from cities around India where unfortunately there is no Jagannath Temple, to come down to Bangalore and be our guest and enjoy this Rath Yatra along with us.

4. Calls and SMSs : Let’s use our cell phones extensively to call and SMS to our closed special ones, friends and relatives to join us during Rath Yatra celebration. Let’s have a date with Jagatara Natha Lord Jagannath on 4th July along with all our kiths and kins.

5. Friendly reminders : Sending a mail or telling once is not just enough to incite some one is incomplete unless we give timely reminders too. Here after let’s do this very honestly and sincerely to all people around to ensure their presence that day.

6. Precaution against Pick pockets, shoe lifters, cell phone & camera stealers : Let’s not come with costly shoes and loaded wallets or vanity bags. Please avoid keeping a hefty violet with lot’s of credit and debit cards along with currency. Be careful about your cell phone, cameras and other electronic gadgets.

7. Dress code for devotees : We appreciate a cute well dressed traditional outfit on Rath Yatra. Girls are requested not to put on gorgeous or indecent cloths, costly ornaments on that day.

8. Bhajan collection for Nine days : we are planning to play all famous hit bhajans of Lord Jagannath during this festival tenure and singer’s special per day during nine days of celebration. We are planning to play each day a collection of all super hits of Bhikari Bala, Sikandar Alam, Mohammed Aziz, Arabinda Muduli, Akshaya Mohanty, Anuradha Podwal, Namita Agarwal, Chita Jena, Subhas Das, Basanta Patra, Nimai Harichandan, Pinaki Nayak, Sarita Dash, Swapna Abasti, Shakti Mishra, Pankaj Jal and so many others. We requesyt you if you have any collections of any of the above singers, then please fire it on a CD and donate to Sri Jagannath Temple.

Responsibilities of Temple Trust members :

Apart from the above responsibilities, we the temple trust members are also loaded with the following pending tasks.

1. Letter to BDA / Municipality for cleanliness and arrangements, Local Police for Law and Order, hospitals for back up Ambulance and first aid tool kits, State Electricity Board and BSNL for not doing any digging activity and under ground cabling during that period, Local TV cable service providers for grounding their low hanging cables.

2. Printing of invitation letters, Banners, Posters, Hand Outs, Wall Papers.

3. Composing and following up for TV channel & FM Radio Advertisements.

4. Garbage cleaning in temple vicinity, Slab covering of open exhausts and sewage, parking lot service road labeling.

5. Brake preparation, Chariot Cloth stitching, decorations, Finalizing of Tahia preparations

6. Arrangement of huge Parking lot, Racked Shoe stand with free token system and shoe guard

7. Buying of Ropes ( 2 inches thick for Chariot pulling, 1 inch thick for safety cordoning ), flower arrangements, Box arrangements to be used as hundi during Rath Yatra.

8. Making of T shaped wooden plank for lifting wires and cables on road during procession.

9. Trial dry run of the chariot to ensure load balancing and technical endurance.

10. Rath Yatra Procession Route Identification and final inspection of the route.

11. Drinking water tanker ordering, following up with Tent House for decorating temple and Mausi Maa Temple.

12. Follow up with Mausi Maa temple trust and Logistics arrangements

13. Follow up with high profile people and chief guests for their presence on the celebration day.
