Do you know why
?
Most of the resumes sent by candidates passed from Orissa are
rejected.
Mostly Odia candidates are not getting interview calls.
In few companies management wish not to give responsible position to
Odia professionals.
Due to few young odia people we are loosing impression in the
society.
Well, as we all know a cylinder bursts when the expanding heated
fuel pressure inside it overpowers the mechanical resistance of the
metal frame. Don’t we all agree that in a very similar way, we too
tampering the tolerance of It ecosystem. Honestly speaking because
of few Odia people all Odia community across IT industries are
loosing impression.
If we won’t get alerted and acknowledged with awareness to it now
then we all will land up in trouble for sure. We need to restrict
several things that are happening around us so as to preserve the
impression of Odia people in IT industries. We ignore it today, we
all suffer tomorrow. The most impacting factors that need immediate
prevention are :
1. Fake Resume, Certificates :
The issue : Although comparatively negligible to those from other
states, few Odia candidates are looking for job in IT with resumes
containing fake experience, education, percentage and project
details. They might think they are the smartest sperms to pierce
thru the ovum, but the truth is the recruiting agencies and HR
communities have become most alerted and organized to track down
such things. May be some times due to crunch in project they hire
such people, but once they finish with the project they instantly
fire such people. They openly say resumes from Orissa are mostly
fake. In some companies they simply throw resumes from odia
candidates. This is a straight slap on our community.
Mitigation : I strongly recommend all our employed friends to do a
preliminary round of sort listing of resume before referring them.
To candidates who are showing experience, please tell them to send
resume from personal id and just a friendly mail from their office
ID.
2. Lack of adequate Professional maturity :
The issue : A descent email ID, an impressive resume, an honest
appearance during professional engagements, a descent personality, a
bit of responsibility and dedication at work. All these sums up to
qualities of a good professional. Since almost 8 years I am helping
people with their career, Sad to say but I have seen many candidates
use to have email id either too long, having complicated digits,
lot’s of ASCII characters and even indecent words that they may wish
to show to their personal particular recipient.
Copying other’s resumes in the name of resume preparation has become
an age old traditional method followed by all in the name of resume
preparation. It’s high time we must get rid of this and type each
and every characters and words of our own resume. Me must think that
resume is the only medium of entering into a professional world. We
must make it of our own and not copy and paste other’s. How ever we
can always take reference, advice, guidance and suggestion from
others to help us mend our resume.
Mitigation : We must prepare and practice to over come this.
3. Live-in together relation, a wrong
message to society :
The issue : Yes, friends…. I am talking about something which is
happening at your next door. A common scene around that has
triggered an early warning to a possible massive cultural disaster.
In a recent public meeting by "Karnataka Rakshana Vedike", I was
stunned to find that they are started realizing the impact of other
state people spoiling their society and culture. I heard the person
on dais speaking about students and professionals from other state
are maintaining live in relations in their neighborhood which highly
impacts their off springs at home. Mind it my friends let's not
repeat one more Maharastra Bihari incident at Karnataka atleast.
Mitigation : My sincere request to all my friends and youngsters to
stay away from such things and better be honest and integrated for
some one who waits at some corner of the world to be your partner
for next seven lives.
4. Spoiling other’s career :
The issue : It has come to notice that few people are over jealous
if they don't get the job but some one else achieves it and due to
this what they do is some thing which will make your hairs stand
straight. They complain to the HR of that company where one has got
a job telling all unnecessary and absurd things about the candidate
who got the job and make sure that the candidate looses his job.
This they even don't hesitate to do against their own room mates,
child hood friends and life time colleagues too.
This is not only ridiculous but also can be coined as the worst
crime of professionalism. This not only spoils some one's career but
also creates a bad impression with the IT companies for all
candidates either from the same college, university or even the
state.
Mitigation : I would strongly recommend if those who do this to come
out from such a nasty work of back stabbing. I would request others
to be extremely careful and alert against such crimes.
We must over come these else we all will have nothing but to repent.
