Ten top most personalities in terms of Socio communal devotion, talent, potential, Credibility, endurance and robustness that made them emerge as the millionth face for the year 2008. Although Oriyan at Bangalore counts to mere two percent of it’s crore head count, it’s highly essential to maintain our cultural heritage and bind our community with love bond. At needs of time many a people had demonstrated their extreme capabilities and thus exceeded expectations setting bench marks in terms of their performance with a clear margin of perfection.

Top Ten Bangalo-Oriyans 2008 are :

1. Sri Upendra Tripathy ( IAS, MD – BMTC ) : He is the man that made BMTC to commute 60 lakh passengers a day making Rs. 700 Crores of profits per year. For his immeasurable contribution to Karnataka Sri. Upendra Tripathy, IAS ( Managing Director, Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation ) was honored with the highest civilian award in Karnataka Extraordinaire Citizen Award for the year 2008.

2. Sri. Sushant Mohapatra ( ADG, Karnataka Police ) : Like Lord Vishnu on heaven, He is the man on earth. May it be a day labor or even a beggar, Anyone and everyone who has approached his door with a request or grievance in hand, returned happy with problem solved and even many a times much more than expectations.

3. Sri. Debeesantosh Prakash : When Orissa was bleeding with flood, the most intolerable pain was the extent of ignorance of the central government, depth of partiality in responding to floods of Orissa as compared to that of Bihar, volume of step motherhood attitude, bureaucracy, camouflaged politics, crocodile cries( Kumvira Kandana ) of authorities, ignorance and reluctance of relatives, family members and even abroad settled off springs of the flood affected people, Sri Debeesantosh Prakash was the first to came out, sound the alarm bells, initiate, accelerate, administer and manage an end to end relief campaign demonstrating the qualities of not less than any super human, stretching himself beyond breakeven point. He is considered as the highest valued personality of the year as his services to mankind helped saving many lives of flood effected victims back in Orissa. Other creditors of this campaign were Sri. Saroj Tripathy, Sri. Pranab Rana, Sri. Amitabh Swain, Sri. Sourav Mallick and Sri. Siba Ram Baral.

4. Sri Vighnesh Rudra Das : During Feb, 2008 till May Sri. Vighnesh Rudra Das Conducted and mentored a massive Door to Door campaign, an adventurous initiative to go around doors and gather donations towards answering the financial crunch and funds shortage for Sri Jagannath Temple Construction. The results were truly spectacular. Challenging the hot sun, dusty wind and unknown locale, more than three and half lakhs were gathered during these extremely hot and sunny adverse climatic period. Hats off to his adventure. Credit also goes to his associates during this campaign - Sri Saroj Tripathy, Sri Debeesantosh Prakash, Sri Siba Ram baral, Sri. Chitta Rout, Sri. Biraj Bhuyan, Sri. Aurodeepta Pattanayak and Sri. Nilakantha Mohanty.

5. Sri Siba Ram Baral : Name it any event or occasion, he emerged as the man of honor. A man of all talents, extreme potential, Never say No attitude, tremendously energetic and robust person. Victories and achievements of Rath Yatra, Flood Relief, Ganesh Puja, Sri Jagannath Temple construction, OCA or Health Camp, He justifies his worth a million. 6. Sri Jyoti Ranjan Nayak (Global Oriya maestro ): August 23rd Orissa witnessed the worst cowardly and brutal act of crime ever seen by mankind. Vedanta Kesari Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati ( a supreme saint of Adi Sankaracharya cadre ) was shot dead at point blank range at his ashram at Jalespata, Kandhamal district, while performing Janmastami prayers. 22 bullets of AK 47 along with a note “to suffer if prevent Hindus from converting to Christianity”, that snatched his life out of him along with five of his devotees. Back at Bangalore a wave of grief and grievances was spread like shock wave. Sri Jyoti Ranjan Nayak and Sri Pravat Ch. Patra offered significant contributions towards spreading the awareness, educating people with the achievements of Swamiji.

7. Sri. Janaki Ballabh Mohapatra : He is a bureaucrat who tailored a
16 head social reformation formula for Orissa that got recognized and appreciated by Chief minister’s Office back at Orissa. His areas of concentration were 1- Corruption, 2-Agriculture and Co-operative, 3-De-addiction, 4-Crime and Violence, 5-Education, 6-Rural Community, 7-Urban Civilization, 8-Religion and Culture, 9- Ballot Box, 10- Peoples Court, 11- Women, 12-Trade and Commerce, 13-Health, 14-Sports, 15- Natural Resources 16-Industry and Technology.

8. Sri N K Jena : At 72 he possess the stamina of a superman. Being one among the trustees and the oldest life member to Sri Jagannath Temple, he takes care of temple accounts and day to day activities of the temple effectively, perfectly and efficiently. Respecting to his supreme service to the temple, He has been honored with being our Royal king during Rath Yatra 2008.

9. Sri Sangram Patnaik : He masterminded a series of Oriya Opera by the most happening Gananatya team from Orissa to entertain all Bangalo-Oriyans for the first time. With the best of the pieces and shots from famous lines of authors being served to us by the best artists of Orissa. The world of Orchestra, Fun, Tragedy, Suspense and emotion flavored Bangalore for 2 weeks

10.Sri Manoj Patra : He is the man who has made Orissa Cultural Association and Sri Jagannath Temple trust rolling on wheels since years. His contributions to Oriya community has set a platform for continuous improvement of our coexistence harmony on Karnataka Soil and Covalence bonding with Locale.

The whole objective of this write up is to appreciate their selfless sacrifice to the society and motivate others to walk along for the common cause.
