Ratha Yatra at Bangalore 2006, 07, 08, 09 : - Rath Yatra at Sri Jagannath Temple Bangalore since 2006 has added a new dimension to the identity of Odia community out side Odisha, A prestigious definition of respect to our co existence on the soils of Karnataka, a memory for life time for Human civilization, altogether a new wing of richness to our culture and most importantly a cute smile to the faces of our ever beloved deities. It's a long standing dream come true for crores of devotees of the supreme lord Sri Jagannath swami across the world to have Rath Yatra celebrated in full scale at Bangalore. At last Bangalore too joins as 1374th to the club of cities in the world that being outside Orissa witnessed Rath Yatra first time year, a festival that binds together hearts and souls of all devotees across the world with the threads of love and universal brotherhood.

On this date our ever beloved lord Jagannatha came out of the Temple and ride thru a spectacular procession on a state of the art traditional wooden Chariot. We had the most spectacular event of the year, the shining day of the calendar, the day that counted to a synchronous gathering of devotees of lord Sri Jagannath swami at Bangalore for a common divine and spiritual reason.

Ganesh Puja 2005, 06, 07, 08, 09

Ganesh Puja in Bangalore is being celebrated by both Orissa Puja committee and Orissa Cultural Association with Max of Fun, food and celebration. Attractions of the show are Orissa Special Chat item Dahi Bara AluDam,  Sambalpuri Dance Troop from Orissa , Odissi : Madhulita Mohapatra & Troop,  Orchestra by Album artists from Orissa, Gotipua by Special Troop from Puri, Antakhyari, Solo & Duet,  Modern dance, Stand up Comedy, Mimicry & Caricature followed by Delicious Odisa flavors during Lunch.

Along with all this an Antakshyari with live band along with the melody of a mixture of Hindi and Oriya songs with pulsating music from the compeer Mr. Subrat and his team who has been entertaining us for last few years in Bangalore. Oriya Film Festival ( 04.03.2007 - 06.03.2007 )  Once again the rich cultural heritage of Orissa was brought along by Department of Information & Public Relation, Government of Orissa & Cultural Association at Bangalore in the form of Inter-State Film and Cultural Exchange Program. Guests of honors Sri. Debashis Nayak ( Honorable Minister for Information & broadcasting, Public Relations, Games & Youth Services, Govt. of Orissa ), Dr. Achyut Samant ( Chancellor, KIIT deemed University, Orissa. ), Padmashree Dr. Nalini Ranjan Mohanty ( Ex. Chairman, HAL ), Sri. S.N. Jamdar ( Principal Secretary for Revenue, Govt. of Karnataka ), Sri. Digambar Mohanty ( Commissioner cum Secretary ), Mrs. Tara ( Recently awarded Kannada Film actress ), Famous Oriya Cine actress Anu Chowdhury, Miss. Naina Das. and couple of other dignitaries from Oliwood .

Show anchored by gorgeous Oriya cine actress Miss. Sucheta Priyadarshinithe show began with A devotional song from "Gitagobinda" by Minati Bhanja. ( Lyrics : "Chandana Charchita" ) Cultural Program show cased were comedies and fun Oliwood comedian Sri. Bhakta Prahallada Charan Pattanaik, well known in Orissa as "Hadu bhai", Lines from "Gitagobinda" by renowned singer Mrs. Minati Bhanja & Mr. Sukant Bal, Bhajan collections on Lord Jagannath by Singer Sri. Susant Ku. Kundu. Brief Prize distribution by our Oriya Cultural Association to all Oliwood cine artists. A line of song on demand by actress Anu Chowdhury followed by a sparking smile to the cheerfully shouting young crowd. Few lines of bhajan by another celebrated Oliwood actress Miss. Naina Das. Marvelous Oddisi dance show casing "Durgastakam" by National awardee Puspita Mishra and Troop. Most attracting and ground thrilling Ghumura dance by artists from Kalahandi. This was the most vibrating and energizing event as they performed a chorus drum dance in group. Acrobatic and gymnastic dance by Gotipuas from Puri. Chaiti Ghoda dance by dancers from Chaudwar.

Utkal Diwas 2006, 07, 08, 09, 10  is being celebrated every year by Orissa Puja Committee Bangalore Since last few years.

Apart from Speeches by chief guest, there has been many cultural programs specific to Orissa that are staged during this celebration.

Asta Prahari ( 09.02.2007 - 11.02.2007 )  Astha Prahari was celebrated from 09.02.2007 till 11.02.2007 by Jagannath Temple Trust, Agara Circle Bangalore. The celebration was an ultimate excitement with 48 hours of rhythmic sprinting Nama Sankirtana of Lord Krushna.

Delegates from ISCON, Gaudia Math and other spiritual communities participated in this event with their musical kirtan team and thus this event was a spectacular one.

Health Camp at Sri Jagannath Temple  Mega free health camp added all together a new definition to Sri Jagannath Temple, Bangalore and boosted up the impression of Oriyans among Kannadigas, thus adding a great value to our coexistence.

Inaugurated by Padma Bhusan Sri N. R Mohanty ( Ex- Chairman, HAL ), Dr. Ashish Chand and Team ( Sai Seva Trust ), Top dignitaries from Karnataka Health ministry, Premium Donors from Local Community.

The event witnessed an early huge rush of 5000 plus people from in and around Agara village, HSR Lay out, Koramangala and Bellandur. Thanks to all volunteers at reception, counters, near doctors and in common entrance and stand up areas who could aligned them in several disciplined queues. There were around 33 doctors from Orthopedic, General consulting, Eye, Dental and Gynecology departments who sincerely and tirelessly performed their job and treated all visiting public with equal attention. There were free distribution of Spectacles and Medicines to all the patients as per their needs. This complementary free accessories were sponsored by Local "Reddy" community personalities on request from Sri Jagannath Temple trust and Sai seva trust. Free Geometry boxes, compasses, pencils, tooth brushes, accessories and lots of other commodities distributed among School Children of the local Primary school. Following to this was free food provision for all the school children of the school. This all were also sponsored by Local "Reddy" community personalities on request from Sri Jagannath Temple trust and Sai seva trust. The event concluded with "Maha Prasad" lunch program by Sri Jagannath Temple trust to more than two hundred people. The medical team who participated in the camp were extremely delighted to be served with hot and delicious "Maha Prasad" by temple trust. Although this marked the beginning of our social activities, The success credit of yesterday's event goes to Sri Jagannath Temple trust and Orissa Cultural Association for arranging, hosting, supervising and conducting the event so smoothly. We wish all Bangalo-Oriyans to come forward and participate in all such social activities further down the line and help building a great impression of Our Temple and community among the Localities.

Biswakarma Puja at Sri Jagannath Temple  Today marks due worship to Lord Biswakarma, The Son of Lord Brahma, the divine engineering architect of the whole universe, regarded as the supreme worker and the personification of the creative power that holds heaven and earth together. People from working section of the society generally venerate this Lord and pray and worshipping him to protect the business interests and trading.

Lord Biswakarma the designer of Lord Jagannath :  Biswakarma is the old carpenter who came in disguise and persuaded king Indradyumna to allow him to make the idol of Jagannath out of the "Daru" or sandalwood log. On tenth day of complete isolation however at the behest of the queen Gundicha the doors are opened ajar and the half-made idols were found in the sanctorum. Industrial houses, workers, artists, craftsmen, and weavers clean their tools and repaint old machines.

Hanuman Chalisa prayanam at Temple  Sri Jagannath Temple Bangalore organized Hanuman Chalisa Prayanam followed by Prasad Sevan program during year 2008.

A day that counts to your date with Sankat Mochan Lord Bajaranga Bali at hanuman temple. On this Auspicious day a mega celebration comprising of Hanuman Chalisa Prayanam followed by a massive arrangement of sponsored Prasad sevan free for all was organized. Devotees of Anjaneya lord Hanuman, joined and chanted Hanuman Chalisa and got faded away with devotion.

Int'l Non violence day with Anup Jalota  The United Nations General Assembly took a momentous decision to observe the International Day of Non-Violence each year on 2nd October – the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Thus Shree Jagannath Temple Trust celebrated the International Day of Non-Violence this year with a concert by Bhajan Samrat Anup Jalota at Chowdia Memorial Hall on 2nd October ’08 at 6.30pm. .

Shri Anup Jalota has released more than 150 albums of bhajans and ghazals and has performed in over 4000 concerts in 100 cities all across the world. He has 58 certified gold and platinum disk surpassing Elvis Presley’s tally of 45. His four-decade long career is marked by landmark recordings like the ‘Complete Ram Charit Manas’ and ever popular songs like ‘Maiya Mori Main Nahin Maakhan Khayo’ and ‘Aisi Lagi Lagan’. This is the first ever public concert in Bangalore by Shri Jalota in two decades.

Supported by Mangaldeep Incense Sticks, a divisionof ITC, the event is being organized by Maam Entertainment, the organization that has in the past staged performances by legends like Jagjit Singh, Ghulam Ali, Amajad Ali Khan, Zakir Hussain and Shiv Kumar Shrama in the city. Bhagabata Saptaha at Sri Jagannath Temple  Sri Jagannath Temple Bangalore celebrated the holiest event of nourishing all devotees with Srimad Bhagabata aroma and essence of ecstatic vraja kirtanas. Garva Muda Pratistha at Temple, 19th Apr 2009  Shree Jagannath Trust Temple Trust  organized "GARVAMUDA PRATISTHA / HOMA' at the Jagnannath Temple, Agara on 19th April 2009. As per the Jagannath Temple rituals, it is necessary to close the ‘GARVAMUDA’, or the space just below the sanctum sanctorum with 5 types of food grains( Panch Sashya). The Trust expects 101 sacks (of one quintal capacity ) of paddy as well as 10 kgs each of another 4 varieties of food grains will be needed.

A few well versed pundits from Orissa are being invited to conduct the Yajna in the 1st floor of the temple, inside the Jagmohan. Sri Raghunath. Mohapatra the "SHILPI" of the temple, would also be present to perform "VISWAKARMA POOJA” at the site of the Garvamuda, starting from the roof over the Lords "RATNASIMHASAN." At the end of both the Poojas, 5 types of Food Grais( Panch Sashya) would be poured into the "Garva". The devotees/ donors for the occasion would be invited to give a hand to the paddy bags before they are poured out for a permanent sojourn with the deities after their idols are installed. Prasad would be served to all those present.

Celebrations ahead

VISWA SHANTI MAHA VISHNU YAJNA : -

is planned to be conducted at Shree Jagannath Temple premises from 21st May to 25th May with about 5 pundits invited from Odisha for this special occasion. This is being attempted for the first time to invoke Lord’s blessings for a better world to live in as well as for an expeditious culmination to our long journey for erecting the Lord’s abode.
The program profile, which includes a proposed “ASHTAPRAHARI PROGRAM”, is attached along with for detailed information. The Maha Yajna would require about 5 “KARTAS (COUPLES ONLY)” everyday, i.e about 25 to 30 members, on non-repeating basis. As it runs through working days except for 1 Sunday, members are requested to offer the names of prospective Kartas to the temple for possible accommodation.

The following constraints may please be noted:
- The Karta should be bearing the sacred thread(Paitha) in the day-to-day life
- The Kartas would be required to be present at the temple for about 12 to 15 hours during the day of his service to Lord
- The Kartas would follow the directions of the Nanas wrt austerity measures on dress code (new dhotis, gamucha/ anga vastra.), food habits etc. during the period of Yajna
- The Kartas would preferably be selected from among life members
- The life members could also give the names of their parents, who would normally be better suited for such spiritual occasions
The devotees are requested to visit the temple to witness the Maha Yajna and offer their help in meeting expenses for the necessary rituals of the Yajna thru sponsorship in cash or kind. Rath Yatra, The largest festivity on earth, for the greatest Lord of the Universe, witnessed by the densest gathering of devotees, celebrated during the most auspicious moments of the time wheel, with three tallest mobile wooden mountains of the world rope pulled together to give ride to Jagata ra Natha Prabhu Sri Jagannatha in a Royal Procession. With this grand festival up next, all we need is a good composition of work force, a bunch of extremely spirited mind set, dynamic and energized dedicated volunteering personnel, few financially helping hands and of course well wishers from all hearts and souls of the society.

In order to nourish the preparatory phase of this mega event, we request all brothers and sisters to please contribute just as minimum as rupees hundred only exclusively towards Rath Yatra celebration this year at Sri Jagannath temple.
